Can’d Aid and Yasso team up to donate another 1,200 bikes to kids in 2024
Longmont, Colo., March 13, 2023 — National nonprofit Can’d Aid and frozen greek yogurt brand Yasso announce their plans to partner for their second year of nationwide giving. Sponsored by Yasso, Can’d Aid will rally volunteers in 12 cities across the U.S. to donate 1,200 bikes and helmets to children in underserved communities throughout 2024. There’s no sweeter treat than giving back to the community, and the two purpose-driven organizations will once again work together to inspire communities to do good.
In 2023, Can’d Aid and Yasso’s internal non-profit, The Yasso Game On! Foundation, worked together to provide 1,200 bikes to underserved kids in 12 communities across the country and are looking forward to doubling their impact through this year’s partnership. Local volunteers in 12 communities across the U.S. are empowered to participate in bike building events, where they are tasked with assembling Can’d Aid’s signature cherry red bikes. The bikes are then donated to the entire first grade at Title I elementary schools across the country.
Each time a bike is donated, kids are treated to a demonstration by professional cyclists like REEB Cycles rider Jeff Lenosky, a world class freeride and trials mountain bike rider and longtime Can’d Aid ambassador. Lenosky stokes kids’ enthusiasm for bike-riding with a safety demo, pro bike tricks and a glimpse into what’s possible on wheels.
“Can’d Aid and Yasso share a mission to contribute to healthy kids and healthy communities,” said Can’d Aid Executive Director Diana Hicks. “Through like-minded partnerships with purpose-driven corporations like Yasso that focus on philanthropy, we’re able to help kids get outside, active and forming positive habits that last throughout their lives.”
Yasso and Can’d Aid will host bike builds across the U.S. this year in the following cities:
March 25 - Charlotte, NC
March 27- West Palm Beach, FL
