MEDIA ALERT
Metronic and Can’d Aid Partner Throughout June to Support Colorado Youth
WHAT: Can’d Aid is partnering with Metronic this month to support children in Colorado’s Boulder County and beyond. Throughout the month of June, Medtronic employees will be assembling 450 bikes, 400 skateboards, and 2,133 art kits to be donated to kids in Colorado.
Medtronic has had a major presence in Colorado for more than five decades and is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and community partner to Boulder and the surrounding area.
Held annually in June, Medtronic’s Project 6 serves as a kick-off to year-round community impact through volunteering and giving where Medtronic employees live and work. This year Project 6 will be held from June 6 –July 31 to engage a global network of employees and retirees in celebrating Tenet 6 of the Medtronic Mission – good corporate citizenship.
Totaling more than 90,000 worldwide, Medtronic employees have the power to make a significant difference in local communities by donating their time and money to nonprofits of importance to them.
During Project 6, Medtronic employees at various locations will coordinate local volunteer projects that provide a tangible way for everyone to get involved while contributing to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development goals.
At the Medtronic Foundation, our vision is a world where there are no barriers to achieving health, wellbeing and prosperity. Together, we can drive a global impact through local action. That’s the Power of You, the Power of Us.
New this year, we will be reintroducing in-person volunteering opportunities and expanding Project 6 participation to include financial gifts. In-person volunteering opportunities are a great way to unite and engage Medtronic employees as our sites adapt to the Hybrid Work Model.
Several local organizations will help facilitate the donations throughout June, including:
Columbine Elementary School
Mapleton Early Childhood Center
Realities for Children
A Precious Child
Out Boulder County
