Twin Cities, Minnesota, April 2021 — The Link will celebrate its 30-year anniversary virtually on Thursday, May 13 at 5:30 pm. To register for this event or to make a donation, click here.
The Link is a youth and adult led nonprofit based in north Minneapolis that provides crisis intervention; basic needs; supportive services; emergency shelter and housing for youth and young families who are experiencing homelessness, sex trafficking and/or are involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare systems.
The Link’s 30th anniversary celebration is supported by Your Call MN, a public service campaign created in collaboration with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA)-led MN Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force (MNHITF) and the Tribes United Against Sex Trafficking (TRUST) Task Force to raise awareness about and increase reporting of suspected human/sex trafficking in the state of Minnesota.
“Our annual event is a great way for the community to learn more about The Link, our incredible youth and how your support changes lives each and every day,” says Beth Holger, CEO of The Link. “This year is very special because it marks 30 years of our work impacting youth in the twin cities.”
During the celebratory event, The Link and Your Call MN will honor youth and adult community leaders, The Link’s founders Jim Marshall and Oscar Reed, and its Youth Leadership and Volunteer of the Year honorees, and highlight The Link’s 30 years of supporting youth and families in Minneapolis. A silent auction will immediately follow the event, supporting The Link’s goal to raise $200,000 to help over 2,000 youth and young families this year.
“The Link’s work in Minnesota is important and should be celebrated by everyone in the community,” says Rob Pero, CEO and creative director of Perodigm, the indigenous-owned company tasked with developing the Your Call MN campaign. “We’re honored to support their 30-year anniversary celebration and their work helping underserved youth, including those who have experienced sex trafficking.”
